It feels like an eternity already as I write this post. Day 3 in New York was spent mostly in SoHo (lower SoHo to be exact). We started our day with breakfast at Kittichai at our hotel. Nothing to write home about but supposedly their dinner menu is pretty good.
Onto more important subjects: shopping. We discovered that Anthropologie was just around the corner from our hotel, so obviously that was our first stop. As you can see, I picked up a couple tops from their extensive sale racks. We also discovered a really great store called Treasure & Bond. I basically wanted everything in that store. My friend Gigi got an incredible deal on a Smythe jacket. It was half price!
A few doors down from Treasure & Bond is Taka Taka (Mexican Sushi and Japanese Tacos). The restaurant’s decor is quite cute. They have conveyor belts for the sushi and the prices of the dishes are by plate colour. You can also order off of the menu. I’m all for fusion, but I found this combo a bit weird.
After lunch, we continued shopping at too many places to list. Of note: Orla Kiely and Opening Ceremony. We also needed at coffee break at Smile To Go which serves really great coffee and a cupcake break at Georgetown Cupcake. Yum! Oh, and of course, we had to go back to Rag & Bone, where I picked up my orange skinnys! Gi bought too many pairs to mention! Haha!
After we shopped our way through SoHo, we made our way to the Meatpacking District. First stop was Alexander McQueen so that I could ogle to masterful creations. Then we took a walk along the High Line and through Chelsea Market and finally decided on dinner at Pastis. We ordered french fries, the Pastis Caesar salad with bacon, homemade fresh pea ravioli with mint, pea shoots, pancetta and ricotta (oh, so good!) and lamb Garganelli with tomatoes, fennel and parmesan. I’m salivating just thinking about it. Best meal by far of the entire trip and the perfect ending.
P.S. Here’s the google map of the places we visited on day 3.
